The battle goes on. The Big 3 US carriers are taking on the Big 3 Gulf carriers. They have proof, they say, of subsidies and unfair competition. Outside the US, it is widely believed that Chapter 11 offers a subsidy and is unfair competition. Who knows how the US government will react to this – but with FedEx taking a staunch position against its American colleagues, and others saying that the US Big 3 should just learn to compete, there is everything to play for.
