The US postal service and the lithium battery ban

As of yesterday, it is no longer permitted to send lithium batteries overseas using the US postal service. It’s a temporary measure, but Apple and Samsung are reported to have opposed the ban. What is refreshing, perhaps, is that Amazon and e-Bay are now aware of the lithium battery problem, which they had seemed to be in denial about. What is more worrying is that the consumers are not aware, and will find ways to get around the rules to avoid paying higher costs with the integrators, as you can see in this forum here (and many others). More education is needed.
