Swissport continues to hit the headlines. The latest news is that it is in talks to buy rival Servisair (you can read the press release here) – creating an ever more fierce battle with WFS in the cargo handling business. Last week the Swiss handler announced that Nils Pries Knudsen, SVP Cargo Europe, would replace Big John Batten as global head of cargo. Servisair, meanwhile, is believed to have been negatively impacted by a recent cargo deal at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport, although this has not yet been verified by the company.
