Antitrust cases against the air freight industry appear never-ending. According to The Australian, a war of words in the latest – essentially a forwarder and shipper class action lawsuit against 12 airlines – is reaching fever pitch, with mediation pencilled in for November with a trial date set for October next year.

Meanwhile in South Africa, the competition commission has been asked to look into the two-player domestic overnight express business. Imperial Air Cargo, a Comair joint-venture with Imperial Holdings, claims that SAA Cargo has an unfair advantage on pricing.
