Concerns over piracy have tailed off in recent months, as security on ships got tighter and pirates appeared less aggressive. Sadly, though the practice is far from gone – yesterday saw two separate attacks, just four nautical miles apart in the Gulf of Aden. In both cases the pirates aborted the attacks – but not before shots were fired, in one case on both sides.
