The Philippines’ Department of Agriculture has announced its goal for the country to begin exporting poultry products to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the end of 2014. In a statement, Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Acala said the country has already satisfied sanitary and phytosanitary requirements and is waiting for its halal accreditation to be finalised. “Once our chicken products are able to enter the UAE market,” he added, “we can eventually penetrate Oman, as well as other countries in the Middle East.”
