Exports have fallen by nearly 40% since the Egyptian army toppled President Morsi in July 2013, says Faisal Ifftikhar, President of Pakistan’s Fisheries Exporters Association. The country’s overall seafood exports grew by 11% ($20.279 million) between July 2013 and January 2014, credited with the reactivation of Chinese markets and the lifting of a six-year EU ban. Seafood exports fell in in January 2014, however, due to limited fishing activities in the winter, added Mr. Ifftikhar.
