A new venture, the Berry Alliance, aims to cut supply chain waste and boost profitability. Growers will be put in touch with retailers and provide them with logistics services, with the alliance acting as contract manager to oversee orders and deliveries. The not-for profit venture will also help smooth out fluctuations in supply and demand and help retailers source directly from growers.
