The delivery drone story continues. But this time it’s FedEx’s Fred Smith –  and it’s not drones but unmanned aircraft. According to this article, the integrators are keeping a close eye on technology which will allow aircraft to fly remotely, as they wait for the FAA to finish writing guidelines on the possibilities of allowing commercial drones in national airspace. The reason, rather inelegantly worded here, is to “eliminate pilots”. The article includes video footage of Boeing’s unmanned X48C (pictured).
