A delegation of Chinese officials is visiting Mexico between February 24 and March 3 to assess berry crops, refrigeration facilities, and assess the risks involved in allowing Mexico to export berries to China.

“If all goes as it has so far, the protocols to open the country will be signed in October, when President Enrique Peña Nieto visits China,” said Aneberries president Mario Andrade, at Fruit Logistica in Berlin. China is one of the world’s fastest-growing soft fruit markets, and Mexico hopes to begin exporting blackberries, raspberries and blueberries.
