Maersk Container Industry is to be the first company to manufacture reefers outside China, according to this article. Instead, it is building its second reefer factory in Chile in a bid to take advantage of changing trade flows and a shortage of reefer boxes in western South America. Maersk reckons the move will save insulated box owners $1,400.
