Semi-conductor sales have always been considered a leading indicator for air freight, which helps keep the industry’s lean supply chains operating. Sadly, Renesas, a Japanese semi-conductor maker is set to cut up to 14,000 jobs, despite having a 40% market share in automotive chips. Its non-automotive customers include Apple, Sony and Nintendo.
