Three Indian carriers have been hit with multi-million-dollar penalties for price-fixing and revising fuel surcharges.
The Competition Committee of India slapped a $6.1m fine on Jet Airways, with InterGlobe Aviation and SpiceJet also being penalised – albeit to a lesser extent – for their part in the illegal activities.
ATW Online reports that the CCI issued its final orders late last week following an investigation that started after complaints of cartel behaviour by the airlines.
