Those considering Tesla’s Semi may wish to rethink. It’s gone from bad to worse for Elon Musk’s company in less than a year since the announcement of the autonomous truck. Mr Musk has been subpoenaed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission over plans to take his company private. But while he looks to steady the ship, it’s worth considering that this week his Hyperloop system turned five years old. When initially announced, many saw it as daft, however, the intervening period has seen two companies move forward with the development, the most successful to date being Hyperloop One.
