It is too early to ascertain how much damage Sandy has inflicted on the US – or, for that matter, the global – economy, but the writer of this article predicts that one the biggest losses will come from business interruption: i.e. losses stemming from broken supply chains which had not put in place any form of Plan B. Have we learned nothing from the tsunamis, ash clouds and floods of the last couple of years?
