The terrible weather this year has hit France where it hurts – its champagne. The harvest is down 40% this year, which will cause rising prices in a year or two. Happily, for the freight industry, the French are drinking far less of the stuff, and exporting more. Last year, US champagne sales rose more than 14% while China saw sales grew 19%.
