The European Commission has told the US that cherry-picking over the open skies agreement would mean that “we won’t have a transatlantic agreement, just a Swiss cheese”. The EC DG called for a greater cooperation, but complained that the long delays faced by Norwegian in being given approval for Ireland-US services went against the spirit of the agreement. He also asked what the very powerful US airlines were “so worried about?”
