Interesting post from the UK arm of the procurement blog SpendMatters on the recent news that some pork in Tesco, labelled as British, actually came from a Dutch producer – a reminder of the horsemeat scandal. While huge opprobrium was thrown at suppliers, the writer argues that supermarkets, which have cut down on the number of suppliers, have in one sense at least been the architects of the present problems.
