Europe must take emergency action to protect medicines in Greece, according to pharmaceutical manufacturers. Drugmakers, who are owed $1.2bn by Greek hospitals and the state health insurer, are warning there could be shortages of medicines if Greece breaks from the Eurozone and its currency devalues, as drugs will likely be re-exported. Supplies could also be at risk from a general breakdown in trading.
