Nearly a year into the Daily Maersk service, and there appears to be a growing divergence in container line profiles. Some carriers, notably Maersk, are looking to replace price with punctuality as the key sales point, while others are simply selling on lower freight rates. Some carriers’ customer might disagree on the basis past experience with the article’s assertions, but with all the recent talk of freight rate stability in return for service reliability, it would be interesting to see if these trends are borne out.
