You would think the rising trend towards regional supply chains, as near-sourcing takes hold, might make the logistics business less complex. Not necessarily so, argues Mark Millar. With more protectionism (800 new discriminatory trade measures were implemented in 2916), as well as sellers needing to supply more customised goods for regional buyers, companies need to be agile and responsive – even if their supply chains are shorter, they are not always simpler.
