As the US and Europe talk about lifting trade barriers, it could be agricultural policy that stands in the way of an easy solution. Europeans continue to mistrust genetically modified crops – while in the US they account for 84% of corn and 93% of soybeans. It also affects potatoes, vines and other foods. The best way, says one MEP, is to remove agriculture from any trade talks.
