SEPANG, 27 November 2012 –AirAsia X, the long-haul, low fare airline, has recorded strong growth again in the third quarter of 2012, carrying 0.64 million passengers, representing growth of 40.7% over the same quarter in 2011 for continuing routes*. AirAsia X added services to Kathmandu in July 2012, bringing its route network to 12 destinations globally.

Cargo registered 13% growth for first 09 months for 2012 compared to first 09 months 2011.  Sathis Manoharen, head of cargo, said:  “We continue to defy market conditions by registering double digit growth.  There is significant downward pressures on the market but we will continue to find ways to build on revenue generation opportunities and manage our cost buckets to ensure growth is registered in our business”.
