We have arrived at the point in the calendar on which container carriers’ annual performance normally hinges – the dawn of the peak season.

In normal times, the peak season is traditionally the feast by which carriers can survive the famine of the slack season.

In normal times, the peak season outlook at this time of year would be relatively clear. Given the intrinsic unpredictability of the past two years or so, leading analysts have been understandably reluctant to make a call.
