Lithium battery industry urges US Senate to amend new transport rules

Manufacturers, retailers and industries involved in the making, shipping and use of lithium batteries have appealed to US senators with concerns on the FAA’s  Reauthorisation Act of 2016, on the safe transport of the batteries. They claim the new requirements, which came in on April 1, cause unnecessary disruption and cost, and that without legal enforcement of non-compliance, the problem would continue anyway.
