It appears that there could be light at the end of the Channel Tunnel again, after the French government this morning offered a solution to striking MyFerryLink workers. All parties have until July 27 to accept in full, or reject the deal. The proposals include a Eurotunnel contract for ferry charters, which will save 150 jobs; DFDS hiring another 230 MyFerryLink workers; and the transport ministry pledging to find other “employment options” for the remainder of staff within three months.
