Ground handling agent Swissport has appointed Steven Polmans as its global SVP of cargo, effective 15 November.
He will lead Swissport’s global air cargo operations “with a focus on developing and driving the global cargo strategy and enhancing commercial performance”, and play a “crucial role” in strengthening the company’s global reputation.
He has over two decades of experience in the aviation industry, including as an independent air cargo consultant, VP business development at Abu Dhabi Airports, director of cargo & logistics at Brussels Airport, and founding chairman of Air Cargo Belgium.
He is the currernt chairman of TIACA, but his term is set to expire this month.
Mr Polmans said: “I am truly excited to take on this new role and to work alongside a dedicated team of passionate professionals. Together, we will strive to meet and exceed the expectations of our existing and future customers and achieve the ambitious growth targets Swissport has set for its cargo business.”
