Kuehne + Nagel has appointed the CIO of Daimler Trucks, Marcus Claesson, to take responsibility for the group’s global technology, and join its management board from September.
Mr Claesson, pictured, succeeds Martin Kolbe, who retires in October after 20 years at the Swiss forwarder.
Mr Claesson was at Daimler for some nine years. Prior to that he spent a decade at Electrolux, most recently as group CIO, and has also worked for Linde.
Dr Joerg Wolle, chairman of K+N Group, said: “Kuehne + Nagel stands for strong information technology expertise and is driving digitalisation in logistics. IT enhances transparency and efficiency, and helps optimise services for our customers.
“We are pleased to welcome Marcus Claesson, a proven IT executive, to the management board. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Martin Kolbe for his outstanding work. He has been instrumental in advancing the development of our IT systems and digitalisation efforts.”
