A tropical storm has brought the ports of Yantian and Hong Kong to a standstill, as heavy winds and rain lashed southern China and the Philippines.

Port operations are expected to resume tomorrow after heavy weather and flooding halted container pick-up and drop-off at Yantian and gales battered Hong Kong.
