Jens Wollmann (pictured above) has been named department head of Dachser DIY-Logistics, taking over from Ralf Meistes who founded the unit and headed it for more than 20 years. He retired at the end of last year.
The division focuses on providing vertical-specific logistics solutions to the DIY sector.
“Its annual shipment volume, currently at 5m, clearly underlines the relevance of the logistics solution, which is specially tailored to the requirements of the global garden and DIY sector,” said Stefan Hohm, director corporate solutions, research and development, and who is in charge of Dachser’s global industry solutions business.
“The demands placed on DIY-Logistics from suppliers, retailers, and consumers are changing more dynamically than ever, which is why we’re focusing on our range of tailored logistics services and the growing internationalisation of the industry solution,” said Mr Wollmann.
He has nearly 20 years’ experience in the logistics industry, over half of which have been at Dachser.
After training to be a freight forwarding agent, the 43-year-old began his career at the company in 2004 and for the following nine years worked in a variety of positions across Dachser Air & Sea Logistics.
In 2013 he joined DHL, where he held various positions, most recently head of business development & account management south. He returned to Dachser in spring 2018.
