ATW‘s Karen Walker has reported from CAPA’s Americas Aviation Summit on the Gulf carriers versus US airlines panel debate. Is there anything to read into last-minute no-shows from IAG’s Willie Walsh, who has been outspoken on the subject despite being strong partners with American Airlines, and Tim Clark of Emirates? Perhaps not. But noting a slight change in lobbying tactics, away from the more aggressive and unpleasant stance, (a “smear campaign”) originally taken, she wonders whether it is possible to prove any actual damage to the US carriers – possible subsidies aside.
