Maersk vessel Dyros, which lost around 90 boxes in the North Pacific on 21 March, has arrived at anchorage off Lazaro Cardenas, the Mexican port in which the Danish operator has a terminal.
According to a Maersk spokesman, the 4,300 teu ship will undergo further inspections while at anchor and will dock at the terminal on 6 April where further investigations will take place.
“Once the vessel is alongside and assessed, we will have more specific details on the extent of the lost and damaged containers. The discharge operations are expected to take around two weeks,” added Maersk.
Along with he cargo inspections, the vessel itself will need to be assessed for any necessary repairs as a result of the stack collapses, which could add additional time at Lazaro Cardenas.
