One of the tragedies of the Hanjin bankruptcy is the fate that befalls the crews and officers of its vessels. This report from the BBC details how the captain of the Hanjin Rome, currently anchored off Singapore, having been arrested by creditors almost as soon as the line went into receivership, tells the story of its captain and how he is trying to keep up crew morale. It is a tale that is likely to be repeated on the company’s vessels around the world. Also stranded at sea is a 25-year-old British artist Rebecca Moss, whose 23-day residency on the Hanjin Geneva looks like it’s going to be somewhat extended.
