Leading freight forwarding specialist Rhenus has appointed a new branch manager as a result of rapid market growth. Russell Turner will be heading operations at the Cannock branch for the UK division of the logistics giant.
Spending his entire 30-year career in the industry has given Turner an exceptional knowledge of logistics. He has worked at a number of logistics firms including periods at Kuehne + Nagel, DB Schenker, and most recently at DHL Freight as head of European freight forwarding, specialising in road freight.
Turner will focus on the continuing development of Rhenus’ Cannock facility, including standardising the internal structure to ensure customers continue to receive high levels of support and excellent customer service as the business grows; introducing even higher levels of professionalism and supporting team development.
Turner said: “I am thrilled to be joining Rhenus because of its excellent reputation within the logistics industry as a dynamic, thriving business. My aim is to continue building the capability of the Cannock operation, which handles both general freight and automotive parts. I will be focusing on bringing in even more automotive contracts and growing our UK and pan-European road routes to take an even larger share of the UK marketplace. I have a real opportunity to make a difference and look forward to working with a close-knit, dedicated team.”
David Williams, managing director of Rhenus UK said: “I am pleased to welcome Russell to Rhenus’ UK team. Russell brings a range of expert skills and wealth of knowledge to his new role. We are currently celebrating a number of new high profile partnerships, including Transdanubia and Milsped, and have appointed new recruits to reflect our continuing growth. I have no doubt that 2015 will be even more successful for Rhenus UK.”
