The Port of Portland, long embattled in a dispute with union workers, staved off a strike threat on Sunday, after reaching an agreement on contracts which stretch until 2013. Officials hope that Hanjin Geneva, which was due on Sunday but suffered a delay after it went aground, will still call at the port.
