Cargolux’s noisy LCGB union is again up in arms, this time over the dismissal of three pilots who, the union alleges, were off sick too many times over a three-year period. LCGB even went as far as to accuse the airline of “spying” on its staff. As management and unions are currently negotiating over the collective work agreement and tensions are running high, it may appear an odd time for management to take on another battle. But Cargolux said the media coverage, generated by the union, was “misleading” and last week denied that the pilots were dismissed over taking too much sick leave.
