Major US airports are continuing to face congestion and very slow processing times, owing to lack of handlers and a growth in the freighter business. Freightwaves reports that forwarders are waiting for between five and eight days for cargo to get broken down at some major gateways, and that some freight has been lost in the congestion. However, new technologies are helping to combat at least some of the problems, it noted.
