Canada’s Pacific Railway strike has affected the country’s two largest ports as shipments begin to pile up. Montreal Port and Port Metro Vancouver are ‘severely hampered’, and the weekly economic impact of the strike is some $500 million. So the government has stepped in with legislation to force the workers back, concerned about the ‘fragile’ economic recovery.
