There’s an interesting article on Commercial Appeal, looking at FedEx’s court action against the US Department of Commerce – an outcome that could impact many. Is the carrier responsible for upholding export regulations and ensuring all shipments are legal, to all destinations? It’s a tricky subject, particularly for a carrier that handles millions of shipments a day – and works under some export regulations that are constantly changing. According to one lawyer quoted, “it may prove very difficult, I think, for FedEx to get the relief that it’s seeking”.
A result that will affect UPS – and many other companies.
