As airlines such as AirBridgeCargo begin operations to Bangladesh, which already has security concerns, the country will need to clean up aviation. The Anti-Corruption Commission has now identified 19 areas of corruption in its aviation sector, including eight in the national carrier, Biman Bangladesh. Not surprisingly, perhaps, one part identified was on exports and imports of cargo, a sector the flag-carrier has been keen to expand. But it’s not limited to the carrier, airports are under scrutiny too for corruption in lease agreements, maintenance, repair and consultant recruitment, among other things, reports the Dhaka Tribune.
