When Swiss bank UBS surveyed 8,000 people on the prospect of riding in a pilotless aircraft, more than half said no cost reduction would increase their willingness to get onboard. This probably comes as unwelcome news for carriers, with predictions that pilotless planes could net them $30bn a year in savings.
