In a new threat to Royal Mail, Deutsche Post has increased its market share in the UK with a £242.7m acquisition of UK Mail, a business-focused parcel delivery firm. The German company said it wanted to boost its foothold in “Europe’s largest three e-commerce markets”. UK Mail has been under pressure after problems at its automated sorting facility triggered two profit warnings last year.
