3PLs should not be re-branding their transport management systems (TMSs) under their own “white labels”, according to this interesting blog from LogisticsViewpoint. Listing 3PLs, and revealing their actual TMS providers, the author argues that the TMS solutions on the market will be the best possible – so why dilute that expertise, or perception of it, by personalising it either through branding or tinkering with it. “Logistics executives are increasingly knowledgeable about who the leading TMS suppliers are… In most cases, it will be a comfort to potential customers to know their 3PL is using a robust off-the-shelf solution that is not going away.”
