Interesting blog from procurement specialist SpendMatters, which has recently begun to cover the efforts of fast food giant McDonald’s attempts to reset its image and improve its supply chain. The salient point here is that it is all very well to claim you are improving the visibility of your supply chain, especially in regards to the ruinous deforestation needed to produce the vast quantity of beef it needs, but without traceability of your suppliers’ supply chains, these things are not very visible at all.
