PRESS RELEASE
Heppner announces the acquisition of the Belgian family-run business DINA LOGISTICS, with headquarters near Brussels. This acquisition forms part of Heppner’s international growth strategy to strengthen the Group’s distribution capacity in Belgium and in the Benelux market as a whole. The overall goal is to strengthen Heppner’s territorial network in Benelux, perceived as a vector of new economic dynamics.
Present in the Netherlands since the acquisition of Hacas, Heppner is continuing its international growth and has taken a new step in Benelux with the acquisition of DINA LOGISTICS, a Belgian family-owned transport and logistics company.
This acquisition will strengthen and accelerate Heppner’s distribution capacity in the region, endowing it with the capability to offer all its customers and partners transport and logistics solutions within an integrated international network that operates close to its customers. Benelux represents a strategic perimeter in Heppner’s growth ambitions. DINA Logistics’ strong presence in Belgium and its ability to reach all areas of Benelux in 24 hours, combined with Heppner’s international expertise and its presence in the Netherlands with Hacas, will ensure
a high standard of service and sufficient expertise to meet the region’s capacity challenges.
“The integration of DINA Logistic’s business in Heppner is excellent news for customers looking to expand their operations in Benelux. The synergies generated by our respective areas of operational, geographical and technical expertise will become key assets for strengthening our international expertise, offering our
customers and partners increasingly personalised services, and leveraging opportunities for future growth,” explained Heppner Group CEO Jean-Thomas Schmitt.
A strategic location for consolidating parcel distribution
Created in 2007 by the de Koker family, DINA Logistics is currently run by Dimitry de Koker. The company’s total sales amounted to €12 m in 2021. It employs about100 people, either directly or via subcontractors, and its profile is that of a family business with a dynamic vision of the trade. With headquarters located at Ternat, west of Brussels, the company operates from its 12,000-square-metre facilities, which include an office building, 5,000 m² of warehouse space and 32 loading bays.
“Over the years, we have developed our know-how, innovating in order to offer competitive services aligned as closely as possible with our customers’ needs and compliant with social expectations and environmental demands. I am convinced that our shared expertise with Heppner will generate synergies that will enable us
to work even better together,” highlighted Dimitry de Koker, DINA LOGISTICS’ CEO.
DINA Logistics continues to operate independently with its network of national partners and benefits from Heppner Group’s international partnerships. “The acquisition of DINA Logistics enables Heppner to strengthen its local knowhow, capitalising on DINA Logistics’ strategic location to develop international export flows from Belgium,” said Ghislain Fernandez, Heppner’s International Subsidiaries Manager.
