Shipping disruption and e-commerce demand driving up airfreight rates
The start of the airline summer season this month is likely to hit airfreight rates ...
During the course of 2012, APL’s Transatlantic service has seen a significant decline in freight rates whilst costs have increased, resulting in an unsustainable financial performance. APL will therefore apply a General Rate Increase (“GRI”) with effect from April 1st 2013.
The GRI will be USD500 per TEU, applicable on all standard dry equipment from North Europe and Mediterranean ports to the USA, Canada, Latin and Central America.
