Simon Large, director of cargo at Cathay Pacific, is to leave the freight arm to become customer director on the passenger side of the business. He will be replaced by James Ginns, (pictured) currently director service delivery at Cathay Pacific.
The change is expected on 1 June, after a period of transition.
Mr Ginns has been at Cathay for 26 years, but this appears to be his first job on the cargo side. Mr Large has been cargo director since August 2015, having joined the Swire Group in 1991. He has held positions with tea grower/ importer Finlays, as well as at HACTL.
Cathay Pacific, in common with many other major airlines, moves its executives around frequently. On 1 May, Rupert Hogg, previously chief operating officer, will become chief executive, while current airline chief Ivan Chu becomes chairman of Swire.
