Recent air transport statistics are heartening: not only are passengers back, but cargo is in ...
There are two new freighters coming for the cargo industry. Aztec Airways, a Florida passenger and cargo operator, is looking to buy China-made Y12F aircraft for its US-Bahamas flights. The turboprops have received ‘type’ certification from the FAA, and it looks as if Aztec will be the launch customer for the Y12Fs. The aircraft is is designed to have a maximum take-off weight of 8.4 tonnes, a maximum payload of 3 tonnes and have capacity for three LD3 containers.
And last week, Antonov completed its first test flight of its AN-132D, a multipurpose, turboprop transport aircraft. With capacity of 8 tonnes, it is designed for short and medium haul routes.
