SkyLease Cargo, the airline affiliated with Centurion Cargo which flies out of Miami, has applied for new traffic rights. It is hoping to fly cargo between Miami and Hong Kong, via Tokyo Narita and returning via Anchorage. SkyLease, along with Centurion, faced court challenges last year over aircraft leases, but it appears to have successfully negotiated its way through the legal issues and is thought to be operating four 747-400Fs and five MD-11Fs. It had been speculated that it would take over some business from Centurion, which last year pulled out of Miami-Amsterdam, but which has come back this year with renewed vigour.
