Supply Chain Brain outlines the challenges – which range from potential fires, which get to extremely high temperatures and are very hard to extinguish, to a lack of regulatory standards and enforcement. Airlines are currently self-regulating, but there remains a problem with misdeclared batteries, and counterfeit goods. The answer may, at least in part, lie in packaging.
